Los Angeles is one of my favorite cities in the world! My husband and I agree that it would be amazing to live there someday. We love the relaxed atmosphere, the coastal setting, the mountains, the focus on health and wellness, the abundance of fresh food, and the vibrant nightlife. LA is our happy place, and we visit as often as we can. With that said, do you know what is one of the best things about this wonderful city?? It’s all the epic shopping streets in Los Angeles, obviously!!! There are so many cute, trendy, and cool shopping streets in Los Angeles to explore. They truly are some of my very faves and right up there with the incredible retail-filled streets in New York, Chicago, and London.
Whether we’re just window shopping, popping into stores and walking out without purchasing anything, or buying the whole store (just joking – kinda, haha), there’s something truly special about the LA shopping scene. It’s relaxed and easy while being airy and trendy at the same time. So, grab your comfy shoes (and your wallets, wink wink) and let’s explore eight of my absolute favorite shopping streets in Los Angeles – in no particular order.
Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice
First up is Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. It’s a super cool and artsy street filled with unique shops, art galleries, coffee joints, and trendy healthy food spots. You can find all sorts of fashion, vintage goodies, and handmade jewelry here. More and more name-brand + newer-to-the-fashion-scene stores are popping up on this street and the vibe is just COOL. It’s a fun place to explore and discover one-of-a-kind treasures. Abbot Kinney is hands down one of my favorite shopping streets in Los Angeles!
The 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica
If you’re looking for a great shopping spot by the beach, head to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. It’s an open-air pedestrian-only street with a mix of stores, street performers, and places to eat. You can shop for popular brands and find some local boutiques. Plus, the lively atmosphere makes it a perfect family outing.
Beverly Boulevard in Beverly Hills
For a more upscale shopping experience, visit Beverly Boulevard in Beverly Hills. This street is all about luxury, featuring designer boutiques and fancy home decor shops. Whether you’re after high-end fashion or beautiful interior design pieces, Beverly Boulevard has you covered.
Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills
Robertson Boulevard is just a short drive away and offers a trendy shopping experience. It’s known for its stylish fashion stores – for us mamas and our kiddos – plus, they’re known for their long-standing LA restaurants and cafes. You might even spot some celebrities while you’re there.
Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills
Speaking of luxury, you can’t miss Rodeo Drive (pronounced Ro-day-oh). It’s world-famous for its high-end fashion and glamorous shops. Even if you don’t plan to shop here, taking a walk down Rodeo Drive is quite an experience and I can’t be in Los Angeles without visiting this chic street. It is actually the one place I think of when I think of LA!
West 3rd St in Beverly Hills
West 3rd Street, also in Beverly Hills, has a mix of small shops and great places to eat. The cozy vibe and fashionable stores make it an easy place to spend the day with your spouse or family.
Melrose Avenue Shopping District in West Hollywood
If you’re heading to West Hollywood, you’ll find the trendy Melrose Avenue Shopping District. It’s known for its art galleries and adorable shops, including vintage clothing and streetwear boutiques. Perfect for fashion-forward mamas!
Melrose Heights
As you explore Melrose Avenue, don’t forget to check out Melrose Heights nearby. It’s a hidden gem with independent shops that offer all sorts of cool stuff, from stylish accessories to artsy decor.
Other Fun and Trendy Shopping Areas to Explore
Besides these well-known shopping streets in Los Angeles, there are a few more places to shop in the LA area you should definitely check out:
- The Grove and The Original Farmer’s Market: The Grove is a very fun outdoor shopping and entertainment plaza with a charming, old-fashioned, yet also very modern and chic feel. The Original Farmer’s Market, right next to The Grove, is a lively tented market where you can go to enjoy delicious food, explore unique shops, and discover local goodies all in one spot.
- Palisades Villages in the Pacific Palisades: A beautiful outdoor shopping center with a relaxed coastal vibe, perfect for family outings.
- Brentwood Country Mart: A charming and upscale shopping destination, offering a mix of boutiques, cafes, and a welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
- Century City Mall in Century City: An outdoor modern shopping center mecca with a million stores and restaurants.
- Malibu Village and Malibu Lumber Yard: Malibu Village is a relaxed, open-air shopping center located in the heart of Malibu, providing a coastal shopping experience with a variety of stores and dining options. Malibu Lumber Yard, on the other hand, is an upscale shopping complex nestled in Malibu, featuring high-end boutiques, unique shops, and a chic atmosphere for shoppers seeking luxury brands and trendy fashion. They’re not far from each other and I recommend tackling both on the same day!
What a list, am I right or am I right?! Whether you’re into high-end brands, chill LA-vibe companies, or funky and unique boutiques, Los Angeles has it all. And no matter what your budget or style, you’re sure to find something to love at any of these special shopping streets in Los Angeles.
