I want to talk first birthday themes and Demi’s first bday theme, specifically, but first I have some questions!! How in the world have I already been a mom of 3 for a YEAR already?? And how in the world do I already have a one-year-old?? Wasn’t it just yesterday when I shared that I was pregnant and revealed the baby’s gender?? Wasn’t it just yesterday when I was complaining about how sick and nauseous I was and you shared with me all your tips!! It is completely mind-boggling to me how fast this year flew!!

I did my best to soak up all the sweet newborn moments and enjoy every minute watching our little Demi girl go from an itty-bitty baby who only drank milk and didn’t move to an actual person who eats most of the same foods we do + is crawling all over the place! Considering she is our last child {she truly has made our family complete}, and the fact that we are head over heels obsessed with her sweet demeanor and heart-melting smile, we wanted to go all out for her first birthday!! And that we did!! So excited to share with you all the details about Demi’s EPIC 4th of July themed first birthday party!

It was the best Party ever!!!

Let’s just say that this party was unlike any party I’ve ever thrown but she deserved every ounce of it!! We all had SO MUCH FUN!!!

First off, I knew I wanted to hire an event planner because with three kids in toe, I just didn’t foresee having the time to put into this party that I could only imagine I needed. With that, I also knew that the 4th of July was a tough weekend to hire out anyone for anything because so many people are out of town. When Ellie from elliestyled said she was available to help us, I was so pumped! My husband and I had seen the details of all the events she produced from her sharing about them on instagram {follow her!} and they were incredible! I definitely had a vision for this party – and that was for it to be modern, chic, and fun – and she made it all happen. We are so grateful towards Ellie and her team and can’t thank them enough!!

Sharing the details to the big bash below! All photos {except for the last two in the bunch!!} were taken by Turning Leaf Photography.

The Party Venue

During the pandemic, we redid our entire backyard and ever since, I knew it had the potential to serve as the perfect party space. Given that Demi’s birthday is in the summer, I thought it would be the ideal place to throw her big well-deserved bash! And it was! Especially with Ellie’s help, who transformed it into the most gorgeous party “venue” ever!! We also utilized the front yard of our house and put out a crisp, white bounce house for the toddlers and big kids who came to celebrate Demi girl too!

The Party Theme

Let’s just say first birthday themes are hard to come up with! I know because before this party, I had already made two first birthdays {neither of which were this extra, however, haha} My due date with Demi was July 8th and I was late with the boys so I never pictured I’d have her early! However, when my water broke in the middle of the night while I was sleeping a week before that, and she was born on July 3rd, I realized we had a 4th of July weekend baby on our hands!! In the hospital, I looked at Isaiah and I said – for her first birthday, we are doing the theme Baby, She’s a Firework!! He confirmed that it was a cute idea and that was the theme of her party!! So fitting, right?!

All the photos!!

Another special element to Demi’s party was that we had her baby naming service there! It was the perfect day to do it, surrounded by all of our family and close friends!!

Demi’s dress
My dress
Brody and Levi’s tops + shorts

What the guests went home with – the goody bags!

All guests left with branded sparklers!
Demi’s baby friends left with personalized sunglasses. I used my cricut to personalize them!
Families with toddlers and big kids left with a bean bag toss!

Not pictured: Guests were also treated to Blake’s Rice Crispy Treats on their way out and some lucky few got to leave with an Aged + Infused Kit!!

Overall, the party was a huge success. It was fit for the sweetest princess baby girl I know and I’m pretty sure everyone who was able to come had a blast! While I get so much anxiety leading up to these types of events {any other moms out there relate?!}, I love celebrating my people!

If you’re curious, the boys’ first birthday themes were cars and Grease {the movie!!}! At the time, I shared about Brody’s care themed first birthday in a few blog posts – the planning, the details, the smash cake, and the goodie bags! Check out the post I shared about Levi’s first birthday, too! Like, I said, neither of those parties were as extravagant as Demi girl’s but they were both so much fun and wildly special, too, of course!
