It’s never too early to think about halloween costumes for kids! I thought it would be fun to go down memory lane with some pictures of my own kids’ past costumes. Over the past decade, we have had some pretty EPIC ones, if I do say so myself. Seeing these pics always makes me a little teary eyed because how are my kids growing up SO FAST?!?!?! But with that said, hopefully seeing what my babes have dressed up as during Halloween can provide you with some inspiration for your own sweet littles – not only for this year but for years to come. Some costumes were DIY and some weren’t but I’m sharing all the links to help you recreate these adorable kids halloween costumes for yourself!
Brody the Biker Boy! (2015)
This was Brody’s first Halloween and I will always remember it!! We went to a Halloween event at Monica & Andy and out of all the kids there (there were a lot!!) he won their Halloween costume contest!!!! Especially as a first time mom, I was VERY excited about it! Haha!

Brody The Scuba Diver! (2016)
Ahhh one of my favorite costumes of all time! I knew I wanted to create this for my future child since before I even had a child! It is one of the most creative halloween costumes for kids I’ve seen! Once I had Brody, I thought it would work better as a walking almost-2-year-old than a crawling almost 1-year-old. I vividly remember going to a family halloween party and literally EVERYONE coming up to me commenting on B’s costume. Which, did I mention was a complete DIY! Now, I don’t consider myself crafty by nature but when I commit to an idea, I follow-through. Such a good one!

Brody The Bears Football Player & Levi the Football (2017)
Levi’s first Halloween!!! I had to go all out, obviously! And if I’m being honest, the second I found out that I was having another boy, I thought about Halloween. I can’t be the only one, right?! I knew I had to do a sibling costume like none other! A football player + a football was at the top of my list! I’d say it was a success! I mean, look at the cuteness!!!

Brody The Dinosaur & Levi The Ghostbuster (2018)
The year was 2018 and all the sudden Brody had opinions! He wanted to be a dinosaur and while it wasn’t my first costume choice, I’d say we definitely found the BEST dino costume on the market. Levi, on the other hand was a sweet little one-year-old who, at the time, wore whatever I told him to!! I DIYed a Ghostbusters costume and think it came out pretty epic! I LOVED this costume! So many of my friends told me it was one of the most adorable halloween costumes for kids that they had seen yet!

Superman Brody & Levi as Thomas the Train (2019)
2019 officially became the year where this mama had NO say. Insert all the teary-eyed emoji faces here! Despite that, the boys were so crazy excited about their costumes that I didn’t even care I didn’t get to choose their costumes! Brody was all about being Superman and Levi was crazy obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine so naturally, I wasn’t surprised when that’s what he chose to be! Pro Tip on the Thomas costume – I stuffed the front with paper towel and then taped it shut to alleviate any flimsiness. Worked like a charm!

Brody The Skeleton & Levi AKA Mickey Mouse the Roadster Racer (2020)
In 2020, we were in the midst of the pandemic (see masks above) and Halloween looked a little different that year. While we were still able to have lots of fun and participate in trick-or-treating, it was much lower key than in years past! Typically, we’ve gone to other streets to trick-or-treat with the rest of our town but in 2020, the kids walked around our neighborhood going from house to house in their costumes with a small group of kids from our specific neighborhood. It was a special time that I will never forget! And as for Brody and Levi’s costumes, they were so adorable! Brody’s skeleton costume was the coolest because it lit up green bones in the dark!! And Levi loved being THE Mickey Mouse Roadster Racer!!

My Little Red, Blue, and Pink Power Rangers (2021)
Powers unite!!!! 2021 was Demi girl’s first halloween!!! As soon as Brody said he wanted to be a power ranger, Levi followed suit, and then there was no question in my mind Demi girl was going to be a power ranger also!!! The boys were so sweet with their sister and way too excited to trick-or-treat!! I loved that we hopped back on the sibling costume train after taking so many years off from it!

Dragon Kids + Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach (2022)
2022 was the year my kids started wanting to wear more than one costume. There were so many different Halloween events and parties and they wanted to wear a different costume to each of them. They decided on dragons and Super Mario Bros characters! Levi was dying to be Mario, Brody made for a great Luigi and naturally, Demi had to be Princess Peach! Both of these sibling costumes were big hits!

Dragon Kids (Again!) and Barbie and Kens (2023)
My 2-year-old Demi girl ONLY wanted to be Barbie for Halloween and while the boys were feeling less than stellar about dressing up as Ken, they indulged their mama and let me buy them Ken tees and take a pic of them all together. Ha! Don’t ask me why they wanted to be dragons again, for the second year in a row, but they did so we went with it. They are seriously cute dragons if you ask me! And one adorable Barbie Girl!!!!
