Not joking – since organizing my garage {I’d say it was a semi DIY!}, and showing you the end result via my Instagram stories, it is MY MOST REQUESTED BLOG POST EVER in the last 5 months! With the intention of getting the post out to you as soon as possible, I took pics of the garage right away, but then every time I sat down to write the post, I’d get distracted. That’s mom life for ya, and for that I am sorry! But, better late than never, right?! And if you haven’t organized your garage yet, now you can put it on your before-winter-comes to-do list! I promise, it’s not as difficult as one would think!
First things first – know your measurements!
No matter if your starting with an empty garage with nothing on the walls {as we did} or if you’re garage is crazy disorganized with old systems that don’t work, MEASURE YOUR SPACE! Somewhat of an annoying step, yes, but it shouldn’t take THAT long and it will save you a whole lot of headache from purchasing systems that potentially don’t fit and will have to go back.
Purchase your systems!
Once you’ve measured, it’s time to purchase your organizational systems! Yep, we’re already at that step. Typically, I would say to do your research before purchasing but guess what? My husband has already done it for you. Thank you, Isaiah!!! He found the best systems to put up in our garage and if they’re good enough for the 5-star reviewers, they’re good enough for us, and are most definitely good enough for you, too. I am so happy with how our garage storage/organization turned out and I truly don’t know how we lived without them!!

Hence why I called it a “semi-DIY” hahaha. But for real, this stuff takes time to put together and to install on your garage walls. You are not going to want to do the job alone. Unless there’s someone in your family who is REALLLLLLLY handy + has the time, then in that case, go for it!

Phew!!! Now if this wasn’t a jam-packed chalk-full of info post, I don’t know what is! I have to say, it’s easy to keep the garage super organized because everything has a place and a home. We use something, we put it back. Even the kids. It’s a system and it’s WORKING!!!!! Now, there’s still a few things I want to do, but for now, we are good! Actually, not just good – GOLDEN! I think it’s safe to say that when things are organized, our whole family is happier.
