Ever since touching on it in my instagram stories {see the highlights HERE}, SO many of you have asked for me to go into more detail about why and how my husband and I decided to take a helicopter ride above LA! Well, you heard it here first… I had NOTHING to do with it!
To sum it up, my hubby is a gem. Even after celebrating my bday for literally the whole month of September, he decided to take it one step further and surprise me with a helicopter tour above LA‼️ But when I first heard about it… well… Let’s just say my reaction was less than pleased ????
I mean, why in his right mind would he think I would like this or want to do it!!! For one, I’m afraid of heights!! For two, I’m a mom and is it even safe?? So many questions and things were running through my head… but the main one was whyyyyy?! Why! Why! Why!
Fast forward a few minutes, my nerves calmed down and I started asking all the questions. What I found out was that the feeling of being afraid of heights doesn’t translate while in a heli. I found out that the company we rode with had a perfect safety track record. I found out that helicopters are actually safer than planes which we obviously go on all the time! And in that moment, I decided that I was going to put my full trust in my husband and JUST DO IT!!!!
Because, what’s life without a little adventure with your other half⁉️ You guys, I did it and LOVED it!!!! It was definitely the coolest thing I’ve ever done and would do it again and again and again… as long as my husband is by my side, of course! It. Was. Awesome and an experience that I will NEVER forget!!!! ????
Moral of the story… JUST DO IT (and don’t get mad at your husband before hand ????} This seriously applies to all circumstances! No regrets! ????
Also, I would be remiss not to mention that my hubby knows me SO WELL and asked them to give us the celebrity tour!!! So we saw a wholeeee bunch of million-dollar celebrity houses, including those of Caitlyn Jenner, Mark Walberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Eddie Murphy, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Sylvester Stallone, and SO MANY MORE!!! Plus, we got THISCLOSE to the Hollywood sign, flew over universal studios and Disneyland, as well as saw the most gorgeous sunset as we were flying above the Pacific Ocean! Also, the mountains… OMG!!! The whole thing was epic!
With that, if you’re interested in seeing a 360 degree camera video of us on the actual helicopter then check it out below! Use your mouse to move around the screen. This is a memory we will have forever and now we can go back and watch the video and see all the awesome views at our fingertips anytime we want to!
Soooo… the next time you’re going to the LA area, email this post to your other half as a subtle hint that riding a helicopter is where it’s at and you want to do it!!! And actually, Orbic Air told me that if you book within the next 30 days and mention my blog, I Adore What I Love, that they can offer you a free 360 degree video {just like ours – which we paid full-price for and it was SO worth it!!}!!! You have to call them directly to take advantage of this offer!! YAY!!!
SO MUCH YES! And if you’re wondering, my husband thankfully forgave me for my little hissy fit about not wanting to go. He’s the best!!
Next time I want to take a helicopter tour over my own city of Chicago! THAT would be cool!! Who’s in??
Be sure to PIN this post so you have it saved for the next time you’re in the LA area!! Then, feel free to also email it to yourself or to your friends and fam using the pink buttons directly below this post! Xox
OMG. This is so cool. I want to do this now! What a cool gift (my husband would totally do something like this…’I want you to conquer your fears!!’ Ummmm. No. And then I would love it too!)
Haha! You need to try it at some point in your life!! It was so memorable, special, and fun!!! I still can’t believe I actually did it! Crazy!!
