This post is in partnership with Rootz located in Northbrook, IL. As always, all opinions are 100% honest, my own, and never influenced by anyone. Thank you for supporting companies that make I Adore What I Love possible =)
Local friends, you heard it here first: Rootz is AWESOME. If you aren’t familiar with the facility, get excited because I’m about to blow your mind!! {Plus, I have an awesome discount code for you at the bottom of this post so keep reading!!!} Located in a pretty central area of Northbrook on Waukegan Rd between Lake Cook Rd and Dundee Rd, Rootz offers alllll the kids classes one could ever want!! Seriously though! They have dance, theatre, enrichment, music, art, science, fitness and camp classes for ages birth to 18 with the most wonderful teachers who are knowledgable, nurturing, and supportive!
I know this because a few weeks ago, Levi started taking their Tot Hop class on Monday’s with Miss Jordyn and he felt comfortable from the second we walked in. Mind you, prior to this experience, he’s only ever taken classes at one other place with all his friends + me by his side. But because he’s obsessed with music and dancing, when I found out they were offering this Tot Hop class over the summer, I knew he had to do it!! And boy am I sooo glad that he is!!!
Not going to lie, I was a little hesitant at first because for one, the class is drop-off but also, Levi wasn’t registered with any of his friends. At the same time, I knew it would be a great experience for him and that trying somewhere new to take classes at would ultimately be a good thing. Unlike Brody at two-years-old, this child is sooo attached to mama. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, he’s getting older and my hope was that trying new things would help him to develop self-confidence and new friendships!! Enter Rootz!!! Three weeks in and I’m not kidding, I already see these things happening for Levi!!!
The facility was started by a local North Shore family, is crazy clean {which I really appreciate}, and also has the best reputation amongst everyone I know who’s ever taken classes there! What I like is that their classes are creative too, and actually, when I first moved to the suburbs I tried to enroll Brody in their Planes, Trains, & Automobiles class but it was filled up!! I was so bummed. Word on the street is that their Superheroes class for boys is a fan favorite and I’d love for Brody to take it at some point because I know he’d love it. My niece takes a ballet class at Rootz and she’s also done an acting class there too. So cute!!
Back to Levi, he’s really into the Tot Hop class that he’s currently taking!! I mean, it’s high-energy, fun, and he’s learned real dance moves! What’s not to love when it comes to this adorable class?? While he’s there, I’ve been staying in the lobby which is so bright and airy, has a cafe with coffee + snacks, the cutest kids clothes with all my fave brands like Prefresh and Tiny Whales, and even a hair salon!!! You guys, this place is your one-stop-shop!!!!
Whether you live in Northbrook, Deerfield, Highland Park, Glenview, Glencoe, or even Northfield, you must check out Rootz!! It’s really not that far from any of these communities. Oh!! And did I mention that they do birthday parties too?? We actually had Brody’s 4th birthday party there this past year and it was the best!!! The owners personally helped with all aspects of the party the day of and they couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating.
